Why a fitted-furniture workshop makes doors

Bespoke joinery taught us something that applies directly to doors: consistency is harder than performance. Plenty of people can make one beautiful kitchen. Making the hundredth exactly like the first takes fixed jigs, an inspection at every stage, and accepting that you never trust the eye alone.

That is what we apply to the interior door: sizes held, a finish identical from one leaf to the next, and a work order that lets us know, six months later, which panel a particular door came from.

Where our doors are made today

Better said plainly, because a client who discovers it on the day of the visit doesn't come back.

Our workshop is in Marrakech: that is where we draw, where we set the jigs, where we do the finishing and where we inspect every leaf before it leaves. It is the same workshop that has made Zayan Design kitchens and dressing rooms from the start.

For doors, panel cutting and machining are carried out on a partner industrial line in Morocco, until our own machines are installed. It is a deliberate choice: buying the machine before you have the volume is the surest way to pay for it twice.

What that changes for you: nothing on responsibility. The jigs are ours, the eight-point inspection is done by us, the warranty is ours, and we are who you call if something is wrong. What it changes for the better: your doors come off a properly set industrial line, not a workshop improvising on an order of fifty doors.

The eight manufacturing steps

  1. Panel cutting — precision cutting, every piece labelled with its reference and its project.
  2. Assembly — structure and frames built square.
  3. Gluing and pressing — facings hot-pressed.
  4. Calibration — sanding and final sizing.
  5. CNC machining — locks and hinges machined in the same pass as the leaf, which guarantees everything lines up on site. Currently carried out on the partner line, using our machining programmes.
  6. Frame veneering — edges and stiles finished.
  7. Finishing — paint or lacquer in a spray booth.
  8. Quality control — eight points checked and recorded before packing.

Our commitments, in writing

  • Firm quote within two working days — a price per door, itemised, with the lead time.
  • Eight-point inspection — dimensions, squareness, facing, edges, hardware, handing, finish, packaging. Checked and recorded before dispatch.
  • Traceability of every door — a numbered work order follows each leaf from cutting to delivery.
  • Blum or Hettich hardware — manufacturer's warranty, no exceptions.
  • Samples before ordering — we don't take a lot order without the client having seen the finish for real.
  • Delivery anywhere in Morocco — doors packed, labelled and grouped by lot.

What we refuse

Fitting-only work. We fit what we make. On a door bought elsewhere we cannot trace a fault back to how it was made — and the client ends up caught between two companies.

Certifications we don't hold. No certified fire door, no certified burglary-resistant doorset, no CE marking. We say so at the first conversation rather than at delivery.

Lead times announced to win the order. The lead time is written on the quote, just like the price.

Come and see us

The workshop and showroom are in Marrakech, and we receive by appointment — it is a place of production, not a shop. You'll see the finishes for real, doors being finished and inspected, and the hardware we fit.

We deliver to Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Agadir, Essaouira and anywhere else in Morocco.

About us

Frequently asked questions

Are Zayan Doors and Zayan Design the same company?
Yes. Zayan Doors is the door brand of Zayan Design SARL (RC 163051), a fitted-furniture workshop in Marrakech. Same workshop, same team, same inspection method.
Can we visit the workshop?
By appointment, yes. It is a production site, not a shop: we arrange the visit so that you genuinely see the workstations and doors in progress.
Do you manufacture yourselves, or subcontract?
Both, and we say so. Design, jigs, finishing, the eight-point inspection and the warranty are ours, in Marrakech. Panel cutting and machining currently go through a partner industrial line in Morocco, until our own machines are installed. You have one contact and one party responsible: us.
Where do you deliver?
Anywhere in Morocco. Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Agadir, Essaouira and the rest of the country. Doors leave packed, labelled and grouped by lot.
Do you also make kitchens and dressing rooms?
Yes, under the Zayan Design brand. If your project includes a kitchen, dressing rooms and doors, it is all handled by the same contact and delivered on a coordinated schedule.
What languages do you work in?
French, Arabic and English in person. The website and commercial documents are in French and English.
